Leaving Certificate Results 2015

Congratulations to all our students on such excellent Leaving Certificate results. These grades are a product of a consistent work ethic from students,a professional and supportive teaching staff with high expectations, supportive parents and opportunities for sports and extra curricular activities which encourage a healthy work life balance.

As a large school with a non selective academic intake, we are proud of the results of all our students and we salute their achievements. A special word of congratulations to Alva Casey who achieved 8 ‘A1′ grades at higher level (825 points). She is one of only 8 of the 52,767 students who sat the Leaving Cert this year to achieve such results.

A detailed breakdown of results will be published in our September Newsletter. It is worth highlighting that 34% achieved over 500 points, 41% over 490 points and 69% over 400 points. Well done to all.

Sr. Camilla Roche RIP

Sr. Camilla Roche IBVM has died. She was Principal in Loreto Abbey Dalkey until the mid-1980’s and will be fondly remembered by all her past pupils and teachers. She was a memorable person who always had time for everyone and showed great Christian leadership. She was enthusiastic about any new project and encouraged others to strive to be their best.

Her own words about the Loreto founder, Mother Teresa Ball, could also describe Sr. Camilla herself:

“In the meantime she was building up her schools, calling on the educational legacy of Mary Ward, giving them an inspiration and a stamp of excellence.”

Notice To All Parents/Guardians

I am appealing to all parents/guardians to drop off/pick up students at the Harbour Road corner rather than drive into the school grounds or to the car park at the Sports Hall.  A serious health and safety problem is developing for pedestrians and staff who must access the school buildings on a narrow route.

Kind regards,

Robert Dunne,
