Loreto Abbey Secondary School Dalkey

Sport at Loreto

Welcome to Loreto Abbey Sport

We in Loreto Abbey, see sport as an essential part of a holistic education.

We can now offer our students the use of a large multi-purpose sports hall, a dance studio and a fitness gym in addition to an external astro-turf and basketball court.

Four hundred students are involved in team sports. Sixteen teams represent us at various levels in hockey in the Leinster Leagues, South Dublin Leagues and Loreto League. Such a spread of teams allows students of all levels of ability to enjoy playing the game - click here for more detailed hockey information

Eleven basketball teams play in both the Loreto and South Dublin Leagues and we regularly feature in national finals - see here for recent basketball performances

Other sporting opportunities include Cross Country. We have 18 students (6 from First Year and 12 from Second Year) currently training with Ms O' Keffee and Ms Scott on Thursdays.

At the East Leinster Cross Country championships Invitational in Blackrock College we had 22 competitors on the day.
Our team of four First Year girls came 4th overall while a team of four Third and Fourth Year girls came 1st overall

Huge congratulations to our National Cross Country Winners
